We are excited to announce that Silikal has been awarded a contract to provide our advanced coating solutions for Aquapurna’s upcoming indoor shrimp farming facility near Hannover in Germany. This state-of-the-art project is set to become Europe’s largest and most modern indoor shrimp farm, with a planned annual production capacity of up to 800 tonnes of shrimp.

Aquapurna is revolutionizing shrimp farming by merging sustainability with a holistic, tech-driven approach. Their innovative methods incorporate robotics, smart data, and automation to create cost-efficient, local farming solutions that are both environmentally friendly and animal-friendly.

As part of this collaboration, Silikal will coat 1,000 square meters of shrimp tanks using our high-performance Fish Tank System. These coatings are engineered to meet the rigorous demands of aquaculture environments, offering unmatched durability, hygiene, and resistance to wear and tear. Work on this project begins in early January 2024.

Construction of the facility is scheduled to commence in January, with the introduction of the first shrimp larvae planned by the end of the year. The project is expected to create approximately 50 on-site jobs, contributing to the local economy and advancing sustainable food production in Europe.
