Silikal Nordvest is proud to have contributed to the expansion of Bakkafrost’s Norðtoftir hatchery, one of the most advanced aquaculture facilities in the Faroe Islands. This major project involved coating 12,000 m² with our high-performance flooring systems to ensure the durability and hygiene required for such a cutting-edge operation.
The Norðtoftir hatchery is part of Bakkafrost’s strategic efforts to enhance smolt production capacity, enabling the rearing of larger and more robust smolt. The facility will produce smolt weighing up to 500 grams, significantly improving fish health and optimizing production. With RAS technology central to the hatchery, our seamless, non-porous coatings play a vital role in maintaining strict biosecurity and operational efficiency.
